A note from us
We are Valentina and Thyll.
Valentina grew up in Colombia, studied law and qualified as a lawyer, and almost three years ago she left home for a new country. If you meet her, you might take her for quiet. She is shy, not distant, and it takes her a little while to open up. Speak Spanish to her, though, and that little while is about one sentence long.
Looking at Thyll today, you would not guess that two years ago there was no plan at all. Thyll grew up in Switzerland on the football pitch, went on to work in finance and sales, and still ended up completely lost, with no idea which way to go. That was around the time the two of us became us.
Neither of us had a lightbulb moment. It crept in slowly. We started reading the labels on what we ate and what we put on our skin, and once you start reading labels, you do not stop at the bathroom cabinet.
For Valentina, that is where it got hard. Thyll had stopped buying polyester and nylon years before and still wears plain cotton T-shirts to the gym, but a cotton T-shirt does not give you any shape. Everything with enough stretch to do that was mostly polyester or nylon, and the few pieces that were not asked her to give up on how she looked.
So that was the choice: know what is against your skin, or like what you see in the mirror. We did not think anyone should have to pick, so we started Nudaé.
